Wow it's almost been 6 months..
It's been a long time since my last post. Spring semester was really busy with everything. I'm more or less satisfied with everything, except maybe grades. I submitted my first abstract (jointly) for a research paper, and am awaiting decision on that. I got a job I've wanted for a long time for this summer. I will be working as a health care person at a camp (I head off to camp next week!) for people with disabilities. I'm definitely excited about going. I'm getting a bit tired of engineering and constantly working on problems and not realizing what good it's all for.
I didn't draw as much, but will post some more pictures I have later on this week before I head off to camp. This semester I realized that cutting down on jobs/activities did not (as I had hoped) increase the time I had to study. Instead, I spend that time..well, doing nothing. So next semester, i will re-start working at the Baltimore Child Abuse Center as a forensic interview facilitator some of the evenings, along with working office-hours at the Center for Social Concern during the day, doing Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention presentations for the Baltimore community in the evening and on the weekends, and (hopefully...it's still in the process) working as a phone hotline counselor for rape/domestic abuse organization in Baltimore. I'm not sure about how research will play out on this. I have (basically) Tuesday completely free, but I'm going to have to go in nights/weekends to actually make it worth anything :-/
Oh well. I take my NREMT (National Registry Emergency Medical Technician) examination next Tuesday, and I have not reviewed anything since my Maryland certification exams in early February. Eek. I'll attempt to cram in studying in between sleeping, watching TV, and generally bumming around home. Ah summer break feels so good.
Wow half of college is over already. I feel like I should've grown more as a person. Maybe I have, I'm not quite sure. I feel like I did more growing Freshman year and got stalled in some sort of limbo Sophomore year. Hm. It feels weird that this upcoming year, I need to decide what I want to do after college, whether graduate school, law school, med school, or whatnot. It's weird how I still don't know what I want to do. Everything is up for grabs, so I guess I'll end up taking the GREs and the LSATs, and hold off on the MCATs unless I feel a pressing need to go to med school. I feel like everyone else is off taking MCAT classes and preparing for the exam this summer while I still don't know what I really want to do. Aye. I'm going to end up homeless under a bridge somewhere :-/
Pictures to come later this week! I promise.
